
Catering Projects
I have had the opportunity to participate in a number of different catering projects over the years. One of my most challenging and rewarding experiences was designing and executing a large-scale outdoor wedding reception. As an Intern I was responsible for everything from; crafting the menu alongside our chef, to creating the seating arrangements and deciding what tableware to use in the guidance of our Catering Director. The event was successful because of the attention to detail and creativity I was able to put into the project. Additionally, I had to factor in the weather and the needs of our guests. I was able to successfully make sure each guest ate and drank well, and left with a very positive impression of the event.
Another experience I had with a catering project was a formal corporate event for a high-profile client. I was tasked with the pressure of creating a menu that was lavish yet also met the budget constraints of the client. I rose to the challenge and worked with limited resources to create elegantly presented meals that were still within the desired budget. I was also able to arrange for service staff to attend and keep the guests served and happy.
Both of these experiences showed me my potential in catering projects. My love for the success of an event, combined with my ability to stay organized and meet the demands of customers, has enabled me to excel in my career. It was an honor to work alongside my Sodexo Crew.
