How decluttering changed my life

It's true what they say," Less is more."

Excessive clutter is often a symptom and a cause of stress and can affect every facet of your life: from the time it takes you to do things to your finances and your overall enjoyment of life. Clutter can distract you, weigh you down and in general it invites chaos into your life.

Tackling the clutter can seem an insurmountable task if you don’t know where or how to start. By devoting a little of your time to getting rid of the clutter in your life and maintaining things relatively clutter-free, you’ll reap the rewards of pleasing living areas, reduced stress, and a more organized and productive existence.

The best way I found out to declutter your home, your work space and your life is to take things one small step at a time, and also be mindful unexpected commotions. Combined, small steps will lead to big improvements that will be easier to maintain over the long-run.

Lisa J. Shultz

“When I own less, fewer things go wrong and need to be fixed. I have more space: openings in my calendar, room in my home, and calm in my heart.”

This is the beautiful secret of minimalism: It may seem like it’s about stuff, but once you’ve cut through the clutter and adopted a new frame of mind, you learn that it’s barely about ‘the stuff’ at all.

De-cluttering made me a better student in and out the classroom

One of the biggest game-changers for me and ultimately one of the main reasons I decided to become more minimalistic was the fact that in college your stay is temporary and thus you have to move multiple times.

Not just move into different apartments, but move every school year (If you stay on campus). I was so tired of all the times that I had to move my stuff and thought to myself: “why do I have all this stuff here!? Most of it I don’t even use and it’s a pain in my but to keep loading into my car!” Here's some tips that can help you too.

1. Determine What You Need While At School

2. Make A List Of Items That You’re Taking With You

3. Purge Your Dorm Or Apartment

4. Downsize Your Wardrobe

5. When Feeling Overwhelmed With Decluttering Remember The Benefits
